Moving home
- dealing with your
energy supply
If you're moving house, don't forget to take us with you. It only takes a few minutes to tick 'energy' off your to-do list.
If you're already a Sainsbury's Energy customer
When you're moving, just let our friendly team know your new address. We'll update your details, re-quote based on your new address and take care of the rest.
If you're not yet a Sainsbury's Energy customer
Switching to Sainsbury's Energy really is as easy as 1, 2, 3 - you just need to sign up and tell us your move date.
Moving home as an existing customer
It’s straightforward to move your energy over to your new home
All we need are a few details from you to get set up. These include:
- Your new address
- Your move date
- Details about the new property to help with estimating your energy use
Once we’ve got this information, we can quote you for your new home and then get you set up. You won’t experience any interrupted service, and if your new home is currently supplied by a different energy company, we’ll switch your energy supply over to us.

Moving home and joining us as an energy customer
When moving into your new home we make it as easy as possible to get us set up as your new supplier. All you need to do is get a quote online, choose your tariff and when you want your supply to start and away you go.
We offer a range of great tariffs and you can earn up to triple Nectar points^ on your Sainsbury's shopping for the life of your tariff. Plus, all customers get bonus points* when they sign up to eligible tariffs.
Once you’ve switched to us, we’ll sort everything out with the old supplier of your new home so you can enjoy a hassle-free experience.
Moving home into a rental property
If you’re moving into rental property then things could be a bit different. If your bills are included in your rent then the electricity and gas bill might remain in your landlord’s name. This means you won’t need to set up an energy account.
If you’re paying the energy bills yourself then you’ll need to contact your existing energy supplier or get a quote with a new supplier. You can find your existing energy supplier on any previous energy bills or by talking to your landlord.
Your landlord should be responsible for getting any electrical appliances tested.
